Last year, JCFilms embarked on a film project knowing that the hard message of the film needed to be shared.
President of JCFilms, Jason Campbell explains, “All of the 40 of so films that we’ve produced have a challenging message, this one really hits home to so many that are struggling to forgive.”
The film entitled, FORGIVEN focuses on child abuse, a subject that could not have come at a better time. In the past year, during this global coronavirus pandemic that has shut down businesses and schools, child abuse has increased 82% with a record number of nearly 1 MILLION reported cases in 2020.
FORGIVEN tells the true-life story of Andrea Weber-Pomykala, a successful real estate investor in the Phoenix, Arizona area. As a young girl, Andrea was physically, emotionally, and sexually abused. Now, her story is being told highlighting her recovery, her forgiveness, and her perseverance to overcome.
Producers say the goal of the film is to help bring awareness and education and to assist communities with identifying child abuse.
“This pandemic is detrimental to many of the children in our community because we know the abuse is getting worse,” Andrea said.
Starring Kristi Lawrence and Dean Cain this faith inspired film captures the true story of this child abuse victim and her fight to overcome the pain and trauma that was left behind due to her turbulent home upbringing.
FORGIVEN will share its Premiere Screenings in the two cities that hosted the production. Friday at 6:30PM at Simpson Creek Baptist Church in Bridgeport, WV and then again on Saturday at 6PM, September 25, 2021 at the King of Glory Church in Tempe, AZ. Admission to both these Red-Carpet Events is free. To learn more please visit: www.JCFilms.org
