HOLLYWOOD STARS DEAN CAIN AND KEVIN SORBO COMING TO PARKERSBURG FOR NEW FAITH-BASED FEATURE FILM

JCFilms Studios to Film Louie and the Preacher Cue October 16–25, Bringing Legendary Pool Champion Mike Massey and Professional Billiards Stars to the Mid-Ohio Valley

PARKERSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — Hollywood is coming to Parkersburg!

JCFilms Studios has announced that production of its newest faith-based feature film, LOUIE AND THE PREACHER CUE, will take place October 16–25, 2026, with Parkersburg, West Virginia, serving as a primary filming location.

The film will feature two of Hollywood's most recognizable actors, Dean Cain, best known for portraying Superman in the hit television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and Kevin Sorbo, who became a household name starring in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and later appeared in faith-based films including God's Not Dead.

But the real inspiration behind this extraordinary production is a man whose life story is as remarkable as anything Hollywood could imagine: legendary professional pool player Mike Massey.

THE INCREDIBLE STORY OF MIKE MASSEY

Known throughout the billiards world as the "Tennessee Tarzan," Mike Massey is one of the most celebrated trick-shot artists and professional pool players in history.

A member of the Billiard Congress of America Hall of Fame, Massey has captured more than 23 major titles and traveled to over 40 countries, entertaining audiences with his seemingly impossible trick shots, incredible skill, and larger-than-life personality.

His talents even took him to Hollywood, where he served as a technical advisor for the 1984 film The Baron and the Kid, starring Johnny Cash.

But behind the trophies, championships, television appearances, and international fame is an even more powerful story.

Massey's journey has been one of personal struggles, life-changing decisions, faith, and redemption. Through his Christian ministry and Gospel Trick Shot presentations, he has spent years using his extraordinary talent with a pool cue to share a message of hope, forgiveness, and second chances.

Now, that remarkable journey is helping inspire a major motion picture.

A STORY OF POOL, FAITH, FRIENDSHIP, AND SECOND CHANCES

Louie and the Preacher Cue is a powerful drama set against the colorful and competitive world of professional billiards and underground pool hustling.

The story follows Max Harper, a former pool hustler who becomes a prison preacher, and Louie Yates, a man whose life intersects with Max's in an unexpected journey of friendship, faith, and redemption.

Kevin Sorbo takes on the leading role of Max Harper, while Dean Cain joins the production in a special appearance.

The film also features Mike Massey himself, along with an impressive collection of personalities from the professional billiards community.

While inspired by Massey's extraordinary life and legacy, the film tells a dramatized story designed to entertain audiences while delivering a meaningful message about the power of faith and the possibility of starting over.

PARKERSBURG'S LEGENDARY LEAGUE ROOM TO SERVE AS FILM'S PRODUCTION HUB

At the center of the Parkersburg production will be The League Room, a massive 20,000-square-foot pool hall that has earned a national reputation as one of the country's premier billiards facilities.

Owned by Chris Wilson, The League Room will serve as the primary filming location and production hub for Louie and the Preacher Cue, bringing together Hollywood actors, legendary professional pool players, filmmakers, and local talent.

"We're so excited that Mike Massey and this incredible team of professional pool players are coming to Parkersburg to make this movie," said Chris Wilson, owner of The League Room. "The League Room has always been about bringing people together through the game of pool, and now we have the opportunity to be part of something truly special. To have Hollywood stars, world-class pool players, and a major movie production right here in our facility is an incredible honor. We're proud to welcome JCFilms Studios to Parkersburg and can't wait for the world to see what we're doing here."

The League Room's expansive facility and authentic billiards atmosphere will provide the perfect backdrop for a film centered on the competitive world of pool. With professional players joining the production, audiences can expect genuine billiards action featuring some of the sport's most recognizable personalities.

WHY PARKERSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA?

For Campbell, bringing this production to Parkersburg is an exciting opportunity to showcase West Virginia while creating a unique connection between Hollywood, the professional pool community, and local residents.

"There's something really special about this movie," said Campbell. "We're bringing together two incredible Hollywood actors, one of the greatest pool players who ever lived, and a story that has the potential to change lives. And we're doing it right here in West Virginia."

Campbell added, "Mike Massey's story is about so much more than pool. It's about the mistakes we make, the struggles we face, and how faith can completely transform a person's life. That's the kind of story we love telling at JCFilms."

In addition to The League Room, the production will utilize other locations throughout the Parkersburg area, bringing cast members, crew, equipment, and filmmaking activity into the community during the production period.

"We want the people of Parkersburg to feel like this is their movie, too," Campbell said. "We have already met some wonderful people here, and the support we've received has been incredible. We can't wait to bring our cast and crew to town and start filming."

LOCAL RESIDENTS CAN BE PART OF THE MOVIE

One of the most exciting aspects of the production is that Parkersburg residents and area pool enthusiasts will have opportunities to become involved.

Through JCFilms' On-Set Movie Experience program, participants can experience what it's like to work on an actual feature film, meet members of the cast, and take part in the filmmaking process.

The production is also bringing together local actors, billiards enthusiasts, community supporters, and experienced performers from across the country.

"This isn't just about bringing Hollywood actors to Parkersburg," Campbell explained. "It's about giving local people the chance to be part of something exciting. We want to involve the community, showcase the area, and create a film that everyone involved can be proud of."
