JCFilms Announces New Feature Film The Donor Divide Starring Kevin Sorbo. Inspired by the Powerful True Journey of Organ Donation Advocate Brian Rubash

BRIDGEPORT< WV — JCFilms is proud to announce the upcoming production of The Donor Divide, a gripping political thriller with a powerful message of hope, redemption, and the life-saving impact of organ donation. The film will star Kevin Sorbo and is set to begin production in August 2026 under the direction of filmmaker Jessica Adams.

At the heart of The Donor Divide is an extraordinary real-life inspiration: Brian Rubash, a Chicago-based toy maker and passionate advocate for organ donation. Brian’s journey is nothing short of remarkable having undergone three kidney transplants, and after his first transplant, facing and overcoming a battle with cancer. His personal story of resilience, faith, and perseverance has shaped a narrative that is both timely and deeply human.

Brian first connected with JCFilms through one of the organization’s On-Set Movie Experiences just a year ago. Since then, he has become a vital part of the JCFilms community, participating in at least six film productions and quickly emerging as a passionate storyteller. Now, JCFilms is bringing his vision to life on the big screen.

The Donor Divide tells the story of a nation divided, where politics often overshadow compassion but when a life hangs in the balance, the question becomes far more personal. The film explores what happens when the gift of life comes from someone on the “other side,” challenging characters and audiences alike to reconsider what truly matters.

To now take his script and turn it into a major feature film with Kevin Sorbo is something we’re truly excited about. It’s a story the world needs to hear.”

With its unique blend of high-stakes drama and heartfelt storytelling, The Donor Divide aims to spark meaningful conversations about organ donation while shining a light on the humanity that exists beyond political lines.

Production is scheduled to begin in August 2026, with additional casting announcements and filming locations to be revealed in the coming months.
