For more than 70 years, The Wonder Bar Steakhouse has been a cherished Clarksburg landmark. Since its founding on February 14, 1946, the restaurant has become a symbol of tradition and community and now, it’s the inspiration behind a new feature film titled THE WONDERBAR.
Produced by JCFilms Studios, a faith and family film ministry based in Bridgeport, WV, the movie is part of the studio’s ongoing commitment to creating uplifting and locally inspired films.
Jason Campbell, President of JCFilms, shared, “This restaurant is iconic and fits into our overall plan of making wholesome, faith and family films in West Virginia.”
THE WONDERBAR also marks a milestone for famed actor Richard Grieco, who not only stars in the film but also serves as its writer and director. Grieco, widely known for his breakout role in 21 Jump Street, brings emotional depth and creative vision to this heartwarming story.
The film follows the journey of a successful musician (Grieco) who, after experiencing a devastating personal tragedy, retreats from public life. As his friends attempt to pull him back from the brink, he finds unexpected solace in his music—and in a wise-beyond-her-years teenage waitress. THE WONDERBAR is a powerful story of grief, healing, and rediscovering life’s purpose.
To celebrate the film’s debut, JCFilms Studios will host a free special screening on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Simpson Creek Baptist Church in Bridgeport, WV.
All are welcome to attend. Come experience a film that blends faith, family, and a touch of West Virginia history.
