God Is Love: Life Beyond Bars is a powerful, faith-driven feature film inspired by a true story of wrongful incarceration, perseverance, and redemption.

Based on the book by Loretta Liegel and the life of Loretta Fish, the film follows a woman whose life is upended by an unjust arrest and an excessive mandatory minimum sentence. Years after her own freedom is restored, she returns behind prison walls, not as an inmate, but as a musician, nurse, and advocate using her voice, her faith, and her story to bring hope to women still serving time for crimes rooted in association, survival, and broken systems.

 

Told through a poetic, multi-plot narrative, the film shines a light on the realities of women’s incarceration while celebrating the power of love, purpose, and second chances.

 

Production is scheduled to begin in April 2026 in Bridgeport, West Virginia, where JCFilms will bring this deeply human story to life with a commitment to authenticity, compassion, and impact.
