Bestselling Teacher Memoir Talking Out of School Set to Become Feature Film in Clarksburg, WV

ree

CLARKSBURG, WV – A heartwarming and hilarious West Virginia story is heading to the big screen. Talking Out of School, the bestselling memoir by retired teacher Lexsana Pilewski-Carr, is being adapted into a feature film starring Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman) and Jana Lee Hamblin (Trinkets, Grimm).

The film will be shot on location in Clarksburg, WV, in the very classrooms where the original stories unfolded. From flying chairs to surprise visits from a charming county deputy, Talking Out of School captures the unpredictable, deeply human moments of life in public education told through the eyes of a teacher who always kept her sense of humor (and heart).

“Mrs. P-C wasn’t your average teacher, and this definitely isn’t your average teacher movie,” said Cindy Lowther, producer of the film and a former student of Pilewski-Carr. “It’s outrageous, touching, and absolutely true. We can’t wait to share her story.”

Production begins August 2025, and the filmmakers are inviting local residents to get involved in the production. Community members can audition for roles, volunteer on set, or simply support the project as extras.

Those interested in participating should contact Producer Cindy Lowther at📧 jcfilmswvcasting@gmail.com

The film is being produced by JCFilms Studios, a nonprofit faith and family film company headquartered in West Virginia, known for creating uplifting stories that highlight the power of community, redemption, and purpose.
