Today’s generation of women are vastly different than any other generation! Women are more self-confident, self-secured and more self-reliant.
However, this generation of women are experiencing tremendous increases of violent crimes with 1 in 3 women in America having been the victim of severe physical violence. It is estimated that every 15 seconds in America a woman is physically abused.
Enough is enough!
Therefore, JCFilms Studios is focusing on a series of feature films aimed at telling these stories to help abused women find their inner warrior and become strong, confident women.
One such story is based on an Amazon best-selling book, HEELS TO HOLSTER and tells the true story of Shirley Watral. Shirley was a successful IT manager with a new relationship which seemed to be everything she hoped for until signs began to point negative.
As she tried to ease her way out, his grasp became stronger, a warning sign she did not recognize at the time, but which would devolve into being held hostage and worse. Her life plunged into the terror of domestic abuse.
HEELS TO HOLSTER is Shirley’s story on how she found the courage to let others help her get away and to finally realize that waiting for someone to come to her rescue was the wrong approach and how she became her own superhero.
HEELS TO HOLSTER is a memoir of how she discovered the warrior inside as she survived an abusive relationship and thrived in the aftermath.
Her faith inspired film is set to start production in January 2025 in Naples, Florida and will feature actor Dean Cain and will be the first film being produced by the newly formed Naples, FL – JCFilms Production Club.
In addition, to being an Amazon bestseller author, Shirley is a motivational speaker, and a firearms instructor. She serves as the 'Women for Gun Rights Florida' state director, member of the 'Florida Carry Board', and 'A Girl & A Gun' chapter facilitator.
She is passionate about helping women in situations like hers find they too have the power inside themselves to persevere.

This post does a great job of blending storytelling with a clear sense of purpose, making the message both engaging and memorable. The progression from concept to execution was especially well explained. I recently came across a discussion on https://grandoaksorthodontics.com/ that approached communication with a similar level of clarity and intention, which made this piece resonate even more. Very well done.
This is such a powerful story, and I loved how clearly you conveyed both the real challenges and the strength behind Shirley’s journey. It’s rare to see such authenticity and purpose behind a creative project, and your writing really honors that truth. I recently saw a related discussion on a https://thesagelawgroup.ca/ blog where the focus was also on empowerment and resilience, and it added another layer of appreciation for stories like this. Excited to see more!
