From every wound there is a scar, and every scar tells a story. A story that says, "I SURVIVED."
I SURVIVED is a new psychological thriller film inspired by true events about a young woman that tries everything in her power to escape her nightmarish marriage, but discovers it is impossible to elude her controlling and obsessive husband. Living in constant fear for her life, she tries to maintain a sense of normalcy that is soon interrupted when he discovers her whereabouts and tracks her down.
Tonya Stone has a seemingly idyllic life and a perfect marriage to Michael, a successful Florida contractor. Beneath Michael's charm and handsome exterior, he is a controlling person who has physically, emotionally, and sexually abused Tonya throughout their nearly four-year marriage. When Tonya finally escapes, the systems built to protect her crumble and Tonya is left on the run.
Jessica Adams, Executive Director of JCFilms Studios explains the reason for this new film project, “It’s true that all marriages are sacred, but not all are safe. I SURVIVED is a true heroic story that depicts how women can overcome and survive after the most horrific abuse.”
Today’s generation of women are vastly different than any other generation! Women are more self-confident, self-secured and more self-reliant. However, this generation of women are experiencing tremendous increases of violent crimes with 1 in 3 women in the US having been the victim of severe physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.
Adams says she hopes this new film project will fight against the culture war raging against women in America today.
I SURVIVED is set to start production in Sarasota, FL in November 2024 and will star actors Dean Cain and Jana Lee Hamblin. To get involved in this film, CLICK HERE.
