The gates are opening, the patients are waiting, and this Halloween, audiences are invited to enter THE ASYLUM.

JCFilms Studios announces its upcoming supernatural horror feature, The Asylum, a chilling new thriller that blends psychological suspense, possession, dark history and Halloween-night terror.

Once a place intended for healing, the notorious Holloway Institute for the Mentally Insane has been abandoned for decades—sealed behind rusted gates and surrounded by disturbing local legends.

But this Halloween, Holloway opens its doors again. Not for treatment. For terror.

The abandoned institution is resurrected as a Halloween attraction, with performers hired to portray some of the asylum's most infamous former patients. What begins as entertainment quickly turns deadly when the actors discover they may no longer be playing their characters. Something inside Holloway has awakened and it wants out.

A Star-Studded Descent Into Madness

The Asylum features an ensemble cast including Kevin Sorbo, Julie McCullough, Eddie McClintock, Denny Nolan, BJ Mezek and Michael Sigler.

As the night unfolds, the line between performance and possession begins to disappear. A group desperately searching for answers discovers that something has opened a doorway between the living and the dead and they have until midnight to close it before the asylum fills with unsuspecting Halloween guests.

Adding another layer of authenticity to the production, portions of The Asylum are being filmed at West Virginia's legendary Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, providing a haunting backdrop for the supernatural story.

“West Virginia has incredible locations and history for filmmaking, and we wanted The Asylum to feel different from anything we've done before,” said Campbell. “This is darker, scarier and built around the kind of atmosphere that makes you uncomfortable before anything even happens. We want audiences to have fun being scared.”

With its haunted setting, supernatural mystery and ensemble of characters trapped inside an increasingly terrifying nightmare, JCFilms hopes The Asylum becomes a must-watch horror film this Halloween season.
