JCFilms Celebrates 135 Movies: Thirteen Years, Thousands of Stories, One Mission

Thirteen years ago, JCFilms was just an idea, a calling, and a whole lot of faith. There was no slate of 135 movies. No nationwide production clubs. No hundreds, now thousands of people who could say, “I was part of that film.” There was simply a belief that stories matter, that faith belongs on screen, and that if you tell the right stories, God will take care of the rest.
One of the earliest milestones came when JCFilms partnered with Eric Estrada, a moment that felt surreal at the time and, in hindsight, set the tone for everything that followed. It wasn’t about star power for the sake of headlines. It was about credibility, momentum, and proving that faith-driven stories could stand shoulder to shoulder with anything else in the industry. Looking back now, that first chapter reads a little like a loaves-and-fishes story… except with cameras, call sheets, and a very tight shooting schedule.
Fast forward to today, and JCFilms has officially reached a remarkable milestone: 135 movies produced. That number represents more than films, it represents lives changed, careers launched, friendships formed, prayers answered, and more than a few miracles squeezed in between takes.
It represents volunteers who showed up nervous and left inspired, young actors who discovered their calling, and seasoned professionals who remembered why they fell in love with storytelling in the first place.
As the calendar turns to a new year, JCFilms is both deeply grateful for the past and boldly focused on the future. The mission remains clear - simple, even - but far from easy.
Goal number one: make films that change the world for Christ. Not preachy. Not hollow. But honest, hopeful, and rooted in truth—stories that meet people where they are and point them somewhere better.
Goal number two: get as many people involved in Christian filmmaking as possible. Especially young people. Especially those who have talent, passion, and a love for storytelling but no clear pathway forward. JC Films exists to open that door—to say, “You belong here. Let’s tell this story together.”
The motto says it all: “Tell stories under trees and change the world.”It’s simple. It’s biblical. It’s a reminder that Jesus didn’t need a soundstage, a budget line item, or a red carpet. He told stories where people lived, worked, and gathered and those stories changed everything.
That’s the heartbeat of JCFilms: modern parables, told with cameras instead of campfires, but with the same eternal purpose.
Most of all, this milestone belongs to the hundreds, if not thousands of people who have been part of the JCFilms journey over the years. The actors, extras, crew members, volunteers, donors, prayer warriors, and first-timers who said “yes” even when they weren’t sure what they were saying yes to. This is their celebration too.
Thirteen years in, 135 movies made, and somehow it still feels like the beginning. If the past has proven anything, it’s that when faith leads and stories follow, the impact can be far bigger than anyone ever imagined. Learn More: www.JCFilms.org
