BRIDGEPORT, WV — Once a place of healing, the notorious Holloway Institute for the Mentally Insane has been shuttered for decades, locked away behind rusted gates and chilling urban legends. But this Halloween, it opens its doors once more — not for treatment… but for terror.
JCFilms Studios announces the production of “The Asylum,” a supernatural thriller and horror feature that promises to blend psychological suspense, folklore, and Halloween-night mayhem — all set against the eerie backdrop of a small town's haunted past.
A Star-Studded Descent into Madness
Directed by Jason Campbell and starring an all-star cast including Dean Cain, Julie McCullough, Eddie McClintock, Denny Nolan, Bj Mezek, and Richard Grieco, this new film invites audiences to step into a world where the lines between performance and possession blur… and not everyone comes out alive.
The Plot: What Happens When You Play with the Past
In the quiet town of Brookhaven, the long-abandoned Holloway psychiatric hospital is resurrected for one night only as a Halloween attraction. Locals line up for thrills, thinking they're in for actors, special effects, and seasonal scares. But as the night progresses, a darkness older than the building itself begins to stir.
The five hired performers, each cast to portray the asylum’s most infamous patients, begin to undergo chilling changes. They're not just playing roles, they're being possessed. As the spirits of the deranged and the damned take over, it becomes clear that this “haunted house” is anything but pretend.
Meet the Heroes… and the Horrors
The town’s reluctant hero is Charlie, a tattoo artist with personal ties to the asylum’s past. Teaming up with a skeptical journalist, a washed-up ex-cop, and a clairvoyant medium, Charlie must uncover the truth behind the cursed scripts the actors read — scripts that opened a spiritual door between the living and the damned.
Their goal: destroy the scripts before midnight, when the asylum is packed with guests and the spirits plan to unleash horror beyond the hospital walls. But time is running out, and not every soul will make it out untouched.
Part Horror, Part Mystery, All Halloween
“The Asylum” is a haunting blend of classic haunted house thrills and slow-burn psychological horror. Featuring claustrophobic scares, emotional depth, and pulse-pounding sequences, the film explores what happens when entertainment toys with true evil — and when pretending becomes possession.
