FORT SMITH, AR — What started as an idea quickly became something much bigger.
The inaugural Chosen & Creative Teen Girls Camp, held in conjunction with the production of the upcoming feature film Second Chance, wrapped up with tremendous success, bringing together talented young women from across the country for a weekend of filmmaking, faith, friendship, and personal growth.
The camp was designed to create an environment where teen girls could explore acting and filmmaking while discovering the value of their unique gifts and talents. Through workshops, film production experiences, discussions, and mentorship, participants were encouraged to pursue their creative passions while building confidence and meaningful relationships.
Throughout the weekend, campers were immersed in the world of filmmaking as they became part of Second Chance, the newest feature film from JCFilms Studios. The film follows a pastor whose past mistakes resurface, forcing him to confront failure, redemption, and the possibility of a second chance.
"We wanted these young women to understand that acting is about more than being on camera," said Jason Campbell, President of JC Films Studios. "It's about storytelling, confidence, purpose, and relationships. We wanted them to leave knowing they are valuable, gifted, and capable of making a difference."
A special thank you goes to Larra Donaldson, whose leadership, encouragement, and passion helped make the camp such a memorable experience. Her investment in the campers created an atmosphere that was both welcoming and impactful.
One of the most meaningful moments of the weekend came when Larra reminded the girls that they are "chosen." It was a simple message, but one that resonated deeply throughout the camp. Campers were encouraged to embrace their uniqueness and recognize that their gifts and personalities are not accidents but part of who they were created to be.
Adding to the excitement, actor Dean Cain made a special appearance, spending time with the campers and parents, sharing encouragement from his own experiences in the entertainment industry.
The success of Chosen & Creative has already generated excitement about future events.
"We had so much fun, learned so much, and built something truly special together," Campbell said. "This was just the beginning. We are already looking forward to hosting another Chosen & Creative Teen Girls Camp in the future."
As JCFilms continues production on Second Chance and several upcoming projects, organizers hope to provide even more opportunities for young performers to learn, grow, and discover their purpose through storytelling.
For the campers, however, the weekend will be remembered for more than just making a movie. It will be remembered as a place where creativity was celebrated, friendships were formed, confidence was built, and young women were reminded that they are, indeed, chosen.
