Dean Cain Directs New Faith-Based Golf Film “The Holy One” Starring Kevin Sorbo

LAS VEGAS, NV – May 2025 – Two of the most recognized faces in faith-based entertainment, Dean Cain and Kevin Sorbo, are joining forces once again in an inspiring new feature film, The Holy One—a heartfelt story that blends golf, grace, and redemption.

Written and directed by Dean Cain, The Holy One tells the story of Dustin McCroy, a once-promising golfer now drowning in alcoholism and hustling for survival at the crumbling Stonewood Country Club. After making a high-stakes bet with the wrong person, Dustin finds himself on the brink—his family, his reputation, and even his life hanging in the balance.

In a special twist, the film is also a celebration of family legacy. Dean Cain will co-direct the film with his son, Christopher Cain, marking the third generation of Cain men in filmmaking, following Dean’s father, director Chris Cain.

Adding to the family dynamic, Sam Sorbo, wife of Kevin Sorbo, will take on the female lead role, bringing heart and strength to a film that aims to inspire audiences of all ages.

“This movie is about more than just golf,” says Jason Campbell, President of JCFilms Studios. “It’s about how we sometimes find our greatest purpose in the places we least expect—on the course, in our communities, and through the people God puts in our path.”

Filming will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the surrounding desert landscape, offering a visually stunning backdrop that mirrors the emotional and spiritual journey of its characters. Production begins in summer 2025, with an anticipated release later in the year.

As with all JCFilms Studios projects, The Holy One will provide opportunities for local talent, volunteers, and community members to participate both on and off screen—fulfilling the studio’s mission of creating uplifting, family-friendly entertainment that empowers people of faith.
