Here at JCFilms Studios we have heard some strange stories. From an elderly lady who donated all her wealth to strangers to a young girl that was abducted by a militia.
We are not freighted by the strange. In fact, we believe Christ followers should always be seeing strange things. Not strange as in weird, but things that we have no explanation for other than it must be God at work.
Luke 5:26 says, “And they were all amazed, and they glorified God and were filled with fear, saying, we have seen strange things today!”
And nothing defines ‘strange’ than the story of an unassuming recovering alcoholic in Des Moines, Iowa that used her garage to change the lives of hundreds of thousands.
THE GARAGE is a comedy-drama based about a lady that opened her garage for anyone needing a place to be sober on Friday nights. With a goal of feeding five thousand people, they found quickly out that it’s not just food that gets fed.
THE GARAGE is based on a true story that follows the lives of several people that spent many nights in the garage: finding sobriety, love, acceptance, and most importantly, Jesus.
Jason Campbell, President of JCFilms Studios explains why JCFilms Studios picked up the story to be adapted into a film, “Just because we’ve made mistakes doesn’t disqualify us from a great life.”
The film idea was birthed from Christian Comedian, Josh Novey that has appeared in several JCFilms Studios movies. Josh knows first-hand the power behind THE GARAGE.
Josh explains, “When they hired me to do comedy one Friday night, little did I know that it would change the trajectory of my career. I saw lives changed like never before and I can’t wait to make this film so others can witness the miracles that happen at a little place called THE GARAGE."
Josh will be leading the production as the film’s writer and director. The film will feature actors Dean Cain and Eddie McClintock and is slated to start filming in April 2024 in Des Moines, Iowa. For more information: CLICK HERE
