New Faith-Based Film ‘And God Made Man.’ Starring Dean Cain and Kevin Sorbo, Offers a Timely Response Amid the Controversy
The national spotlight has once again turned to Bridgeport, WV, as it becomes ground zero in one of America’s most heated cultural debates: the participation of transgender athletes in girls’ high school sports.
Over the weekend, 13-year-old freshman Becky Pepper-Jackson of Bridgeport High School competed in the state track and field championships, placing third in discus and eighth in shot put. Her participation comes amidst an ongoing legal battle that has reached the U.S. Supreme Court.
West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey, a vocal advocate for protecting women’s and girls’ sports, responded, “A boy is currently competing in girls’ sports at the high school state track meet in West Virginia… It’s wrong and unfair.”
Ironically and perhaps prophetically one of the most talked-about faith-based films of the year, And God Made Man, was filmed and produced right in Bridgeport. The film comes from JCFilms Studios and stars Christian actors Dean Cain and Kevin Sorbo, both outspoken critics of biological males competing in women’s sports.
And God Made Man tells the story of Lindsay, a high school swimmer who loses her dream of a college scholarship to a transgender competitor. With her future hanging in the balance, her father takes their case to court. But they soon discover that the courtroom battle is only the beginning. What soon follows is a fight against public opinion, political pressure, and cultural trends.
Filmed in Bridgeport, the movie delivers a powerful narrative rooted in faith, truth, and the courage to speak out in a time of moral confusion.
“Christians can no longer afford to stay silent on issues that matter,” said JCFilms Studios President Jason Campbell. “We made this film to empower believers to engage the culture and defend biblical truth with grace and courage.”
