The age of streaming has heralded yet another format of entertainment: Episodes. Series. Episodic. Whatever you call them, these ‘binge-monsters’ are quickly becoming more popular than feature films. And the JCFilms Orlando Production Club is preparing to shoot their first faith inspired ‘binge monster’ with actor Dean Cain.
Faith Springs is a 30-minute, faith-based situational comedy series best described as The Office or Modern Family meets Family Ties or Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (80’s and 90’s sitcoms), but in a church setting.
Jason Campbell, President of JCFilms welcomes the idea, “Telling a story in episodes allows the audience to witness the progression of the characters and broadens the creativity from the writers.”
Faith Springs tells the story of the Evelyn family and the struggling church they have kept going for several generations. The family desperately pins their hopes on Ted, the one son considered the “black sheep” of the family, who must find his own faith again in order to save Faith Springs Church.
One of the creators of Faith Springs, Eric Stalnaker is excited about this project; “We wanted to tell a story as a situational comedy about finding faith in a different way. Faith Springs does that!”
