As you may know, this past summer, JCFilms Studios produced a faith-based film in Mansfield, Ohio called CHOSEN. The film dealt around the subject of adoption and foster care.
CHOSEN is a multi-plot movie that was created to empower people of faith to get involved in the challenges of adoption. On any given day in Ohio, nearly 16,000 children are being cared for in foster care, and that number is expected to increase as the number of foster parents are decreasing.
Therefore, the team behind the film had a vision of creating a non-profit organization called OHIO HELPING HANDS to help people to get involved.
“The film CHOSEN is a blueprint for what churches and communities can do to help. Because beyond making an entertaining film, we wanted to make a film that will change and benefit the lives of children,” Jason Campbell, Producer & Director.
On Friday, September 10th at 7PM, OHIO HELPING HANDS will host its first volunteer community meeting for OHIO HELPING HANDS and a special SNEAK PEEK of several scenes from the film CHOSEN.
This is not a dreary meeting on statistics, a fundraiser, or a recruiting scheme to get you to adopt or foster kids. Rather, this is a way for you to learn more about the exciting and life changing programs we are wanting to launch and how you and your family can get involved.
We believe this amazing film can make a huge difference. We just need volunteers to help organize these efforts.
