Now, at face value, "YOUTH GROUPS MATTER" may not be a deeply profound statement, so why is JCFims Studios recruiting over 80 teens this summer to be involved in these two film projects on this subject? Because we believe this is the most important issue facing the church today!
Let’s face it; the secular world is growing increasingly aggressive in trying to capture the hearts and minds of this next generation. Modern media is destroying any chance they have of maintaining a Biblical God-centered image. Truly, the culture war is raging against our young people and any normalcy of church youth groups is dying.
Consider these new church statistics:
48% of churches in America do not have programs for young people.
30% of young people that attend a church with youth programs, do not attend.
94% of all Christians are saved before the age of 18.
70% of all young people who grow up in the church leave by 18.
4% of this millennial generation have a biblical worldview.
This reality should be driving churches to take action. Therefore, JCFilms Studios wants to help in the production of two creative and Christ centered faith-based film productions. Both film programs are being created to challenge young people to live with non-negotiable convictions and to inspire churches to be more involved in youth ministry.
Each year, JCFilms Studios hosts two weeks of film camp that allows young people to experience all aspects of Christin filmmaking while being in an actual film. This wonderful summertime experience allows every camper to be cast in the film projects.
During JCFilms Film Camp in 2023, we made the movie 'FILM CAMP' that explored how a group of teens helped a struggle Christian camp! In 2024, we made two films that went a bit darker into understanding the rapture from a teenage perspective called 'AFTERMATH.' And let's not forget about 'DOGMAN!' In 2025, we're going to dive into the challenges facing America's 'YOUTH GROUPS!'
During a JCFilms Film Camp, teens are given the opportunity to spend time working directly with film professionals to help advance their film goals while making a Christian film. These weeklong experiences not only offer an exciting hands-on approach to filmmaking, but each camper gets a role in the film!
The FIRST FILM project is entitled, YOUTH GROUP THE FILM and will be produced June 14 – 21, 2025. This character driven multi-plot film depicts the tremendous pressure young people face in this increasingly unavoidable secular culture. The film goes beyond simple Wednesday night small groups and Sunday morning worship to a movement of engaging young people on their turf.
The SECOND FILM project is entitled, YOUTH GROUP THE MUSICAL and will be produced June 21 – 28, 2025. When the youth group from Rosewood Baptist Church decide to put on a Christian musical production at their high school they are immediately met with opposition. Through prayer and creativity, they use their imagination to produce an amazing musical with remarkable Kingdom results.
“We believe the impact of both of these films are virtually limitless. Compelling diverse characters aligned with music and captivating stories can create an incredibly and powerful message for young people for years to come,” explains Jason Campbell, President of JCFilms Studios.
